The Bourdin name was highly regarded in the 19th and early 20th centuries for producing luxury cutlery and flatware in Lyon, a city long celebrated for its artisanship. A set of this quality would have been a sign of refinement in an elegant French household, reflecting both practical function and aesthetic taste.
