Circa 1900–1920 | France

Hand-cut glass with gilt-bronze (ormolu) mount and handle

Details & History:

An elegant French cut glass ice bucket from the early 20th century, showcasing the refinement and craftsmanship of the Belle Époque era. Its richly faceted body reflects light in prismatic brilliance, while the gilt-bronze rim and handle — delicately chased with floral motifs — embody the timeless marriage of glass and metalwork that defined Parisian luxury entertaining.

Though glass rather than lead crystal, the quality of its cut and weight speaks to the same artistry found in Saint-Louis and Baccarat–style pieces of the period. The ormolu handle, finished with a sculpted knot detail, balances beauty with function, making this piece a true reflection of early 1900s sophistication.

Whether gracing a silver tray or anchoring a classic bar cart, this vessel captures the essence of old-world hospitality — where every pour was accompanied by craftsmanship and ritual.

Condition Notes:

Excellent vintage condition. Gentle surface wear and light patina to the ormolu consistent with age. No chips or cracks.

Styling Notes:

Perfect for serving ice, displaying a bottle, or holding fresh florals. Style alongside antique bar tools, crystal tumblers, or a brass tray for a polished European vignette.
