Delarue, Paris — Bronze Tazza with Classical Portrait Relief
A raised profile sits at the center of this dark-patinated bronze tazza. Scrolling foliage and small figural masks circle the portrait, their raised details catching the light against the darker bowl. A short pedestal gives the shallow dish just enough height to show off the relief.
The portrait medallion and ornament recall Renaissance revival metalwork, where classical imagery was worked into decorative vessels. The underside is stamped Delarue, Paris, giving the piece a specific French connection. It’s especially handsome on a library table where the design can be seen from above.
