Details & History: This ornate commode is a quintessential example of French Rococo Revival furniture, echoing the elegance and fluidity of 18th-century design. The façade features three drawers adorned with deeply carved floral and scrollwork motifs, each framed by curving contours that soften the structure and lend a sense of movement. The drawer pulls are cast in decorative brass, complementing the richness of the wood and enhancing the overall refinement.

The commode stands on graceful cabriole legs, each one carved with acanthus leaf detailing and terminating in subtle scroll feet. These elements reflect the influence of Louis XV-era design, revived during the 19th century as part of a broader European fascination with historicist styles. The top surface is wide and flat, ideal for displaying decorative objects, while the drawers offer generous storage.
