Details & History: These elegant armchairs are a refined example of the Louis XVI revival style that flourished across Europe in the late 1800s. Drawing inspiration from the neoclassical forms of the late 18th century, each chair features a carved wooden frame with fluted legs, floral rosettes, and scrollwork along the arms and crest rail. The oval backs and padded seats are upholstered in a golden-brown striped velvet, offering both comfort and visual richness.

The upholstery is secured with a perimeter of decorative nailhead trim, a detail that adds texture and definition to the silhouette. The combination of carved ornamentation and plush fabric reflects the revivalist taste for blending classical restraint with Victorian opulence.
