19th C. Parisian Missal with Decorative Gilt Trim
Dimensions: 5" W x 6.25" H x 1.25" D
This charming late 19th-century French Paroissien Romain prayer book is a beautiful example of Gothic Revival craftsmanship, published in Paris by the renowned house of Gruel & Engelmann. Reproduced from sixteenth-century illuminated French manuscripts and retaining a handwritten provenance note documenting its ownership by Henri Tschannsen (1877–1970) and Agnès Vérel (1883–1961), it is both a decorative work of art and a tangible piece of French history that has been lovingly preserved through generations.
